Statement of Need/Program Overview
Within the space of just a few years, several new retinal treatments have been approved for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), promising increased durability and better patient outcomes. These conditions can significantly impact vision and quality of life for patients. The program will explore the clinical, emotional, and logistical challenges faced by patients, highlight the importance of timely diagnosis and effective treatment strategies, and emphasize multidisciplinary approaches to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life. Practical insights into improving treatment adherence, addressing transportation challenges, and administering effective treatment and follow-up care will be discussed.
